Cost Management

Enjade provides a comprehensive 5D cost management system directly integrated with your BIM data.

Cost Plans

Cost plans link financial data to your BIM elements, enabling real-time cost tracking as designs evolve.

Creating a Cost Plan

  1. Navigate to Admin Panel > Cost Plans
  2. Click New Cost Plan
  3. Enter plan name, select the associated project
  4. Optionally link a parent plan for hierarchical budgeting
  5. Set the budget field for budget tracking

Cost Item Types

Cost item types define reusable cost categories based on classification systems (e.g., DIN 276, Uniclass).

  • Catalog generation: Automatically generate cost item types from classification systems
  • Manual creation: Define custom cost categories
  • Linking: Link cost items to other cost items for QTO quantity derivation

Formula Editor

The formula editor lets you create calculated properties that derive quantities and costs from BIM element data.

Features

  • Property picker: Browse and insert element properties into formulas
  • Suggestions: Auto-complete suggestions as you type
  • QTO quantities: Derive quantities from IFC geometry (area, volume, length)
  • Aggregate formulas: Calculate totals across multiple elements
  • Help documentation: Built-in examples and syntax reference

Quantity Columns

Each cost item supports three quantity columns:

Column Description
Manual Manually entered quantity
QTO Automatically derived from IFC geometry via formulas
Effective The quantity used for cost calculation (defaults to QTO if available)

Plan Compare

Compare cost plans across versions or time periods:

  1. Open a cost plan
  2. Click the Compare tab
  3. Select a snapshot or previous version to compare against
  4. View line-by-line differences with highlighted changes

Cost Snapshots

Take snapshots of your cost plan at any point in time for historical comparison and audit trails.

Budget Tracking

Set budget limits on cost plans and receive alerts when costs approach or exceed thresholds.
