Key Concepts

Elements

Elements are the core entities representing BIM objects (walls, doors, windows, etc.). Each element has:

• Unique identifier (GUID)
• IFC entity type
• Properties organized in property sets
• Classification assignments
• Version history

Properties

Properties are key-value pairs attached to elements:

• Standard IFC properties - Imported from IFC files
• Extended properties - Custom project-specific properties
• Computed properties - Calculated via formulas

Classifications

Classification systems organize elements using:

• Industry standards (OmniClass, UniFormat, etc.)
• Custom classification hierarchies
• SOLL properties per class

Cost Planning

Cost features enable:
